This page explains the high-level principles Clinics GRP applies when artificial intelligence is used in support of clinical, operational, or educational work.
Possible AI-assisted uses
- drafting or supporting clinical or operational notes
- assisting with educational or public-facing content
- helping structure treatment or communication material for professional review
Required oversight
- all clinically relevant output must remain subject to review by qualified staff
- AI output should not be treated as final clinical judgment on its own
- accuracy, appropriateness, and privacy impact should be assessed before use
Governance expectations
- AI use should align with privacy, confidentiality, consent, and professional obligations
- staff should understand where AI is being used and when human review is mandatory
- Clinics GRP may revise this policy as AI use, regulation, and operational systems evolve
